Frequently Asked Questions
Introduction to Businesses
In order to efficiently manage any potential projects, we need to be certain that our customers have a clear understanding of our operations & of our requirements from yourselves, to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible, in order to safeguard both our BRC certification and your exact requirements.
You can find some of our most frequently asked questions below.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our blend Minimum Order Quantity is 1 metric tonne (or any part thereof). Repacking MOQs are 2000 units, or 5000 units for weights less than 100g. A small order surcharge will be added for anything less than these levels and is not always possible, so must be by prior arrangement only.
When is payment expected for orders?
Proforma payments are expected until a trading relationship is developed, after which time (at our discretion) payment is due 20th of the month after date of invoice.
Do you handle Nuts on-site?
We handle several allergens on site, including nuts, the latter are processed in a robustly controlled room, which meets BRC standards. Disclaimers on packaging are at your own discretion.
Do you offer bespoke packaging options?
We do not provide bespoke packaging, if your product requires it, then proofs must be provided to ensure our processes are compatible and that no claims are being made of which we are unaware.
Can you source bespoke ingredients?
We cannot source bespoke ingredients, but are happy to quote for those already in our portfolio.
What are our options if our packaging contains any metallic components?
Should the packaging contain any metallic components we are unable to metal detect or X-ray the finished pack, and you must sign a disclaimer to show your acceptance of this exclusion.
Can we store un-used materials in your warehouse?
Due to limited storage space, we are unable to store excess raw materials or packaging and we require finished goods to be collected/despatched in a timely fashion. Failure to do so will result in an invoice being issued for the number of pallet spaces taken up.
Do you offer a fulfilment service?
We do not operate a fulfilment service, we only despatch full pallets, however these can be direct to your customer, on your delivery notes if required.
Is our stock insured by Richard Whittaker Ltd?
Companies must ensure their insurance brokers cover the value of their own stocks.
What are the customer's responsibilities regarding allergens and cross contamination?
It is imperative that a finished product specification covering all allergens, and any possible cross contamination risks is provided, prior to acceptance of an order. Should that not be possible, detailed raw material specs for each ingredient in the recipe may give sufficient information to allow us to proceed.
What are the stipulations regarding organic products?
If the product is declared organic, the recipe must be lodged with our certification body, the print approved, and a current organic certification must be provided.
Can we use raw materials provided by Richard Whittaker Ltd?
Should you require raw materials from our stocks, you must approve them in writing, they must also be highlighted in the recipe & a separate purchase order raised to ensure stocks are available.
What sort of loss should we expect during production runs?
We work on around 2% production losses, 5g sachets are the lowest limit of our packing machines.
It is absolutely imperative that we are able to prove that anything brought onto our site is thoroughly
screened and unfortunately without these documents your order cannot be processed.
We look forward to your help and understanding in these matters and to the potential of working with you
in the future.
